This one is definitely sensual! The way the body is posed always give a sense of movement to the painting :) I think it's the closed eyes, the head bent on the side and how the hand are posed that really give me the "sensual" impression. On another note, I'm having a hard time figuring out where the light is coming from...The choice of palette is definitely the one of the water/ocean. Amazing details aswell on the bottom body part :D Keep it up!

thankyou so much for mentioning a "sense of movement". some of my favorite artists really stress that aspect of their work. i've adopted a similar opinion about what it takes to create tension in a peice but don't want to steal other peoples methods. it's nice that you see it though, thankx again.

It's funny, because there are actually African Mermaids in the folklore of the various groups in Cameroon. They're called a Jengu. (Miengu, if talking about more than one...) So this picture was actually 100% appropriate, on top of it being 100% awesome!
